Oaklawn is known for its restaurants and Dallas' large gay and lesbian communities. It's known for its gay friendly restaurants, shops, bars and clubs. Oaklawn is also known as the "Gayborhood" because of its diversity and excitement within the city.

The Galleria Dallas is a unique shopping experience unlike any other in Dallas. Ithas an exclusive array of retailers, department stores and dining. Also one of the main attractions at the Galleria Dallas is the ice skating rink nestled in the center of the mall. There are an multitude of events throughout the year involving ice-skating. General admission for the public is also available throughout the year.
Fair Park is a recreational and educational complex full of museums, gardens, performance halls, landmarks and amusement venues. Fait Park offers an array of concerts, seasonal activities and events throughout the year. One of the largest events of the year is the Texas State Fair. This event occurs annually from late September to mid October. The state fair is full of creative exhibitions, art competitions, livestock competitions, fried foods, rides and great music.
